Kerala Backwaters

Between the classical colonial styled town of Fort Kochi and the Venice like shady streets of Alappuzha (Alleppey) one can find an amazing grid of canals and lakes that spill into the watery highways of Kerala. It's one of the most fascinating symbiosis of natural and cultural landscapes I've ever seen. Most people just spend a one or two day trip on one of the georgeous accommodated traditional rice boats. But it's also an amazing adventure to cruse the narrow rural roads by bike and watch the fisherman handling their historical Chinese Nets.
